Why does a local office request the hand-delivery of rfe response document?

MY husband has been requested to hand-deliver a marriage certificate at the local office in relation to his petition for my daughter at the end of this month. His petition for me has has been approved and is with NVC.

Questions:

1. Why hand-deliver on a specific day and time instead of just allowing him to mail it in right away?

2. Will her documents get quicker review after hand-delivery, in time to catch up with mine at NVC?

All responses appreciated.

??

When you mail something in it goes through the intake process, through various people and service centers and then forwarded to the local office into the hands of the adjudicator.

Apparently you filed the 130 and are the NVC stage now you submitted something for your daughter?

Im not sure how or why you got so lucky to get a date and time to bring it in-, but the 130 for your daughter is at the local office in the hands of the adjudicator, while your petition is at NVC. For you to mail your evidence in (the marriage certificate) it would take ages to wind its way through the maze and make its way to the local office and into the hands of the person who needs it. By the grace of God, they gave you a specific date and time to bring in your evidence so that it will go right into the hands of the person who needs it so it will be attached directly to your daughters file.

Once your daughters 130 is done, she will move to NVC as well and you can both do your interviews together.

Please make sure your husband brings that document in as requested, if he messed it up, I dont know that they will allow him a second opportunity.

each local office has it's own process and procedures for both adjudication and what they will do for getting more info.

I truly wish it was all the same, but it's not.

Some offices issue an RFE, whilst others issue a NOID with an opportunity to rebut and sumbit more info.

It just varies, what goes down at each local office.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
