Maybe this is really silly, but sometimes, I have trouble getting my phone calls to go through on his cell phone when my fiance is traveling, etc. Does the consulate only contact over the phone to tell someone when their visa is ready to be picked up, or will they send a letter or email if they are unable to contact someone by phone?

I have never heard of them following up other than with a phone call, but ti doesnt mean they won't. Did your fiance only give one number?

Maybe you can take comfort in the idea that trying to connect internationally is often more difficult than calling from within country. My fiance would trave because of his job and I know there are parts of the country where service is a little difficult. Maybe you could follow up with an email to the consualte after the week-10 days to check on any failed phone attempts?

Just wanted to add to the experience....My fiance bought a one way ticket with Lufthansa out of Casablanca. Had absolutely no problems checking in.

I had asked Lufthansa on Thursday when I called to confirm the ticket what the airline policy was regarding one-way vs. round trip tickets. First she asked what passport he is traveling on, then when i explained the type of visa and the packet of documents he was carrying from the consulate- she said if he has the proper documents, there should be no problems.

all my worrying on that was unnecessary, they were able to reach him just fine this morning. but they want him to come in tomorrow at 130 and it's physically impossible for him to get to casablanca that fast from where he lives. when he told her that, all she said was "don't come friday". hopefully they won't mind if he gets there a bit later in the afternoon, or early the next morning, inshallah...

If you know the interview date, he can go in. The only thing he needs to bring is the passport and 2 passport photos. Don;t forget to have him get a copy of the immunization record to bring to the US for AOS

so from my reading here i wanted to recap what is necessary now for casa...

let me get this straight:

wow thanks, so i reread over the casablanca post and came up with this basic info:

celibacy certificate

court report

birth certificate

police certificate

two color photographs 50mm x 50mm

medical exam

more letters, emails, photos, etc

ALL this translated into english!

$100 application fee

that and the forms they require(of course) right now i cant think of anything else ive picked up on. I went ahead and did the support paper just in case they ask for would just be our luck not to have, the bank letter, the job letter, the letter of intent addressed to the embasy. I sent all that to him and more emails, chat log, mail receipts.

What is the celibacy certificate? Are you sure it's not a "célibataire" certificate, meaning a document that verifies one's unmarried status and freedom to marry?
