Musician to work as a translator?

Hi!

I study Music to be an opera singer. I have a slightly complicated situation, I came here with a j1 student exchange visa and now live under an f1 status for the last almost 5 years. I gradually transferred from language school to a community college once I felt good enough in English, finished an associate in science in music at the community college. Now I'm studying at a conservatory to finish my music studies which will approximately go till summer 2014.

While I was thinking of going back to Turkey (where I am from) to apply for an F1 visa finally this summer, my voice teacher told me that she would like to hire me instead of risking me not being able to come back, in case my visa gets denied. She is in charge with an institution (an opera house in midwest) and apparently she could actually use me for the fact that I can speak Turkish fluently, clearly because I'm Turkish. She was talking about 'why not launch a program that would involve a summer camp in Turkey and bringing Turkish singers here in the US to perform in our summer session'.

I know it's vague and to me it sounded so temporary that I don't know how one can apply for a permanent residence with a project like that. Any ideas? ANY input would be highly appreciated..
