Got an update... they called yesterday a friend of mine (police officer) and asked him about me and my wife. Got also an update on ceac website for the date from: Feb 27 to March 15.

Is it a good thing?

My husband had his interview on May 29, 2012 and was told he would be AP for maybe a few weeks and now we are nearing the 10 month mark. Until Tuesday, March 12, my case had not been updated since November 5, 2012. The Naples Consulate seems to be really taking their time.

To respond to your question about whether or not it is a good thing that your friend was called and CEAC updated, yes it is. This way you know that they are in fact working on your case and working toward getting you out of AP. The first month or two my husband's case was in AP there were many updates which made me happy but now sometimes we go months with no updates. Also the consulate no longer responds to personal inquiries, so I no longer know what is going on with my case at all.

Thanks, I'm positive... I will be out of AP soon. And you too....!

I have recently been informed by the Consulate in Naples, via my congressman's office, my husband should return to the consulate as soon as possible when he is contacted to return, because "at times cases require processing two or three times." Is this the consulate informing me that when my husband receives a call to return to the consulate we will still be in AP? I am really stressed out. If we get a call and get put back in AP I don't know what I will do.

Any help or advice please.

Uhm... I would read it this way: "Sorry for the long time waiting but we had to process your husband 2/3 times. He should come to the US Consulate as soon as possible so we can process his Visa Application."

Good luck..!!! i think everything should be fine!

for me it is 1 month ,anyone knows if AD is going within the consulate or outside ,my case status is AD on ceac ,does it mean the AD is happening outside the consulate ?

If you've been in AP for just 1 month then what you can do is wait. The more you contact them the more you're going to wait.

And I don't think there's a way to find out if your AP is being held by the local Consulate or it's being held in Washington.
