Hi everybody. I got married on August 14 2012 to my us citizen girlfriend. We sent all the papers to the uscis. On jan 10th we had our interview. Everything went well. The io told us that we will hear in 30 days the decision. But we still didn't recieve anything and on the uscis website it says still initial review.

What do we have to do? We want to go to Europe to visit my family and now we don't know if its ok to leave the country!! What If they deny me when I get back to USA. Is that possible? Please help us out. We don't know what to do.

Thanks!!!

Either contact one of your congressional representatives or make an Infopass appointment at your local office to find out the case status.

I personally would not travel until you had a decision, in case something happens while you are away.

did 'all your papers' include Advanced Parole, or no ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes include advanced parole!! I have my work permission and travel document. They have everything they need. I don't know why it takes so long. It's been more than 6 months now.

It has only been 2 months since your interview. You stated it was on the 10th of Jan. That is still a long time though. Make an Infopass appointment and ask them about the status of your green card.

Your travel document is for travelling, so you can visit your family.

I agree though it's been a while, infopass is a good idea.

So my laywer went on Tuesday the 19th for the infopass appointement. The lady told him that they will do more background check and that's why we didn't hear anything till now!! That's all she could tell my lawyer. And we have to wait 3to 6 months longer.

So what does this mean??!! There is nothing wrong with my marriage. We live in the same house. We both work like crazy.

Please advice.

Thank you

How did you get to the USA (K1 fiance visa, VWP, work visa etc)?

How long did you know your spouse before getting married?

Are either of you in a security related occupation (military, working with chemicals etc)?

Hi vj family. We had our aos interview in jan 10th 2013. They told us that we will hear in 30 days. Still nothing!! My lawyer went last week to the immigration office in San Diego. They told him that they still need to do more background check. What does this mean?? They have everything they need. The interview went pretty good. They have all the forms . They didn't need more evidence at the interview. So why more background Check??

My wife is so stressed out!! And I am getting there to. We don't know what to do!

Can u guys please advice?? Thank you so much.

I came here as a visitor (VWP) with no intentions to marry!! I know my wife for 3 years now. We r not in military or chemicals or what so ever! My wife is just stressed out right now. I am here only for my wife. I had a very very good life in Europe. Good job/friends/family everything. I left everything for my wife. So it's not that I am from a third world country and want here a better future. It's just that I love my wife that's all!! And she doesn't wanna go to Europe because off the different language and the WETHER!! Lol.

You are both in stateside AP. There is nothing you can do. They will call you when they call you - they need to do their checks. You can't force them to approve you.
