Question On Passport, G-639 and Power Of Attorney

1) WIfe has her passport in her maiden name, this should cause no issues for the embassy in Lagos, right?

2) I am filing out freedom of information act form G-639, does she need to sign section 3? Reason that I am asking is that the information we are seeking is the reason the CO denied her visa at the embassy. So I am assuming those are her records not mine at USCIS, yes?

3) Is there a general power fo attorney that she can fill out that I can use for her authorizing me to sign some incidental forms here in the US?

Thanks.

1. Not a problem. Most of the women still have everything in their maiden or previous married name. They know the change and cost to change and understand.

2. Hmmm not sure. Since you are the Petitioner and USCIS only really deals with the Petitioner you should be good. But well check further.

3. My husband did a Power of Attorney there in Nigeria and sent to me. He just went to a lawyers drew it up. Very nice and pretty it is. So I could take to banks and such.
