Hi guys, thanks for all the informations i have received out here they have been sooo helpful. I still have some little issues out here. I am about filling for AOS. I just got married so i'm going through all the forms and every other thing i need to do. The basic issue i have now is the Medicals. I did medicals in my country before i was issued the K1 Visa. Do i have to go through all that again? Its been only 5 months since i did my medicals which i handed to the consulate at the embassy and she didnt give me back. So what am i giving to the surgeon out here if i have to do another medicals. The only thing that was given to me back home was a sealed packet which i handed to the immigration upon arrival. I am a little confused. I'll appreciate if anyone has an idea of what iam suppose to do. Thanks.

You didn't get anything from the medical facility that did your medical examination, for instance, your vaccination record, or a cd with your xrays on it?

ETA: Your medical is good for 12 months.

I dont think i did. What they were more concerned about was the packet given to me to be submitted to the consulate on the day of the interview. I guess i may have to contact them and see if i could get anything from them. After that what next? do still have to go meet a surgeon with my vaccination record and get the i-693 form or i'll should submit the vaccination record alone with all my other documents to immigration.

You don't need to submit the I-693 if your medical examination was completed within the last 12 months. You may submit a copy of the vaccination supplement, or bring it with you to the interview. See 8. on page four http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

If you submit your AOS application with a cover letter, 'd suggest you put "unexpired vaccination sheet from K1 medical less than 12 months old" as part of your list of documents. Otherwise put "medical excempt - medical from K1 unexpired" or something like that if you do not have the copy of your vaccination transcript.

As long as you had all the age appropriate vaccinations already and that the medical in unexpired, you can avoid a new medical.

The sealed envelope you handed over at POE had your medical in it(along with your petition and other submitted documents).

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
