Hi people,

I am an F1 student, married to a US Citizen in October 2012. I am filing the adjustment package at the moment and at this point, am having troubles understanding how to fill up the information that applies to me on FORM I-131 (APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT). I don't intend traveling out of the US anytime soon.

Can someone please help me here. I live here in the United States. How do I go about filing that form. Thanks

It is not mandatory to fill that form out. If you are sure you won't want to travel, you don't need to fill it out. I knew I won't be traveling at all, so I never filled out that form, and never missed it at all. It takes about 3 to 4 months to get your green card (assuming you are approved). If you know you won't be traveling at all you don't need to worry about this form.

Thanks "AnotherLostSoul" for answering my question. I appreciate it.

Just another point of view: You never know when sudden, unexpected need for travel will come up (e.g. a relative is dying). It's too late to apply for regular AP at that point, and there is no guarantee they will give you emergency AP. The green card process may be quick, or may take a long time, e.g. a year. You never know. The advance parole application is free with the adjustment package, and you do not need to give any reason for it. What have you got to lose? The form is not hard to fill out; if you have any specific questions, post it here and members will be more than happy to help.
