Hi! I have my K1 visa. I just arrived here in VA last January 30 and my US citizen husband and I got married last Feb. 22. We are preparing my documents to be sent to USCIS and we got confused on medical certificate. I have completed my medical examination, had my CD with my chest x-ray and vaccination certificate with me. Now my question is, do I still need to seek for a civil surgeon and let him/her update my vaccination/medical certificate?

What does your vaccination sheet say? incomplete? Do you have all your shots up-to-date and correct for your age etc at the time of the immigration medical?

Ours says Incomplete so we got the flu shot as it's in season (St Luke should have administered this shot last October but cheated us). Had the listed Civil Surgeon from USCIC site transcribed his DS-3025 to I-693. It cost us $50 to transcribe and $30 for the shot. We weren't sure either but we played safe and got the Green Card approved just last Tuesday.

Good luck!

Yes, you will need to see a civil surgeon and get him to fill out the USCIS document, I forget its name and number. To help this process I took my gal to the local county health department and got her vaccinations/immunizations updated and this helped speed the process for my gal and the costs were much cheaper than what the civil surgeon would have charged me.

Best of luck!

I submitted only a copy of my incomplete vaccination certificate/document and I didn't have any problem. Got my permanent resident card with No RFE at all.

Does not matter if it says incomplete. Most never say complete. It is not as simple as that. I posted the link above, but I will again,. See this post. It tells you if your DS-3025 was filled out properly or not and if you need to see a civil surgeon or not. It is totally up to you though: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/418359-i-693-question/page__p__6030084#entry6030084

Thank you so much for the helpful information...We're also living here in Virginia Beach...would you mind to send me a private message the exact address of the civil surgeon you went to? just want to be sure we will go to the right doctor who will not charge us more. Thanks again.

I have read carefully the tips on the link you sent me and now I am enlightened...since it's flu season here...i think they will be requiring me to have a flu shots. and there are other vaccines that i need to have. Thanks for the helpful info. :-)

If you wait 2 weeks before going to see a civil surgeon, then flu season will be over and you won't need a flu shot. April 1 is no longer flu season, so the shot won't be required.
