My hubby and I are thinking of sponsoring a child, probably through World Vision... We were thinking of a child from Mexico because that is where hubby's family is from....

But Hubby was wondering if there was any such program here in the US... We know the cost of living is way higher here but we were wondering if there was any kind of program like that.....

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

what's that most common one? I sponsored a kid in India for awhile during college until I got too broke. Poor lil' Gautam. Wonder what's up with him these days... anyway, that company had kids in the U.S.

I can't remember the name, but probably you guys can. You know, the one with the commercials?

Oh yeah! It was Christian Children's Fund. You can choose the kid's nationality and they have the U.S. as an option. They're one of the more highly rated charities for ethics and they don't don't only help Christians but people of all faiths.

I dunno. But the money goes toward certain things for a whole group of children/families. Not sure how that works but it's not like each kid gets 25 bucks a month from a specific sponsor. Maybe it's a smaller group of kids? I have no idea.

eta: sponsoring a kid is completely symbolic, so perhaps they use all the money for each of their projects, not just limiting money sent to Guatamala for Guatamalan projects, etc.

 Hehehe last time I saw a photo of Gautam he didn't have any shoes. He's come a long way in such a short time!

Actually I decided to sponsor him once when I was drunk and we were watching TV at my friend's house. Then I couldn't just, you know, stop...
