AOS three months over normal processing time

Hi everybody,

I wanted to hear what people think of this situation. I filed my I-485 in April last year, did my biometrics stuff pretty soon after, was transferred to the Cali Service Center, and have been waiting ever since without another word from USCIS. The people on the phone at USCIS tell me I'm over 90 days past normal processing time, and I have even contacted my local congressman for help, but their office is only receiving emails about how USCIS is forwarding the inquiry to someone else who just might be responsible, so no real answer there either.

As far as I know I filed everything correctly. Should I worry?

I don't know about CSC but MSC (Missouri Service Centre) processed my I-485 package within 72 days. I suppose it may have to do with the backlog that CSC may be facing. If you have filed incorrectly, I am sure you would have been informed by now. On another note, I witnessed a conversation at my local office that it currently takes 9 months to get a GC. I am sure you will get your updates soon. Good luck!

September 2010 met in Germany

September 2012 got married

You adjusted from a tourist visa, so I suppose you got an interview. When there is interview, the process is pretty fast.

Bergziege, are you adjusting from a K-1 visa? It would explain partially why the process is so long for you, but you probably won't have an interview. Back in April last year, cases were transferred from NBC (=MSC) to CSC. I would continue to seek help from congressman or your senator...

All cases go through NBC. They are then transferred to a local USCIS office if there's interview.

Yes, I came on a K1 visa and got transferred to CSC and have not had an interview. I will stay in touch with the congressman's office and see... Thank you!

That seems like a really long time! Sorry I cant be more help, my entire AOS process took 6 months, including being delayed 6 weeks coz of a certain superstorm called Sandy.

Remember, Thanks to our glorious president, there are government cutbacks and this is affecting the approval process. For what it looks, furloughs are cutting people's weekly days to 4 rather than 5 and people are being let go. Also, there is a stop on hiring new employees. So now the waiting is now longer!

Oh, yeah, no more tours of the White House, but our president can travel to see a golf game.
