You need to schedule an infopass here But I'm not sure if it is of any use if you are a February filer. They will just tell you the same thing USCIS tells you when you call customer service.

There's probably no point because of a few things:

1- Has anyone TOLD you your petition is at a field office. It takes time to get them there if they go at all.

2- It's only been a month. Unless you're from like New Mexico or something, no one is even thinking about your petition right now.

Well I am trying to get a jump on this petition. Anyway I can shorten the wait I am going to try.

honestly, the best thing to do, is... NOTHING...

4 months, and we didn't call once. That's pretty good. :)

Ok just a question- a jump on what?

So you make an appt and go to the local office and then... what? What exactly are you going to the office for? A status update?

You can check your case status online or by calling the number or yes, by going into the office and speaking with the infopass employee. They will all give you the same information.

You will find that jumping up and down and waving your arms constantly and saying hey remember me Im over here work on my case will do nothing to speed up your application and depending on your personality it will either frustrate and anger you or give you reassurances that youre on top of things and doing everything you can to be noticed.

So if its going to give you comfort to wave your arms around- by all means go for it. Just be advised its not going to have any effect at all.

Im not by any means saying- people should just file papers and forget about it. Thats irresponsible. You do need to track them. You do need to watch for RFEs and returned mail. Issues can be fixed if they are caught in a timely fashion.

So use common sense and do what feels right for you.

So it did not work for you. Maybe you went about it the wrong way. Waving your arms up and down saying remember me would not be the way to go about it. Maybe if you had been a little more laid back you could of got someones attention. Thanks for sharing with us your experience. I myself am a little more laid back than that.

Pretty much keep busy and try to not obsess too much. We're all OCD over this. It's natural to do so.

Noki, Thank you very much for your input. Also I posted that PM to you from my Iphone and it does not show your timeline when I log in on the Iphone. I am now at home on my Mac and see your timeline. Thanks again.

Not sure. Was looking for some input. At this point just wait. Give it some more time and maybe schedule an appointment. I have a customer that is a high profile lawyer and I will hit him up on some advice also. You never know where help will come from.

Yeah i know the phone versions don't show.. haha I am having issues on my computer and it's forcing me to use internet explorer. VJ doesn't exactly like IE though. LOL Not sure why.. :)

To be honest I was freaking out before why my husband wouldn't call etc... (he's the USC) and he just sat me down in Jan when I visited and said, "Look, this is really important to me too. More important than anything else. But I can't sit here and worry about it or I'll go crazy. I worked for the government for 8 years, and it was always "hurry up and wait." I work the government now and it's the same thing. Sit and do nothing until something breaks then it needs to be fixed yesterday. If it goes past 6 months, I will call and see what's going on, but until then, we need to think about something else. I love you and want you here."

That mollified me. He cared. He just wasn't going to let it drive us bonkers (although this process can drive you bonkers.. even he felt it.) I wish I'd kept going to the gym or started a hobby. Something to keep the mind busy.

I was at the gym today around 12 and I go 5-6 times a week. I did this before the Visa Journey so it is normal. The gym DOES help with the wait. My wife walks with her mother every other day and she feels the same way that the walking helps with the stress. Since we see each other ever 3-6 weeks it is not that hard. I am tired of airports. BURNED OUT. But it is what it is. Hopefully will be over soon.
