Hello,

I have something I need answered maybe some of you can help me I hope :)

I have a friend that came over here on a j-1 visa from the Philippines and worked at Bushegardens for 3 months

then she came and stayed with us for 1 month at our home but time flew by so fast we did not get to enjoy all the stuff we wanted too with her and me and my husband are disabled so it's very hard for us to travel on a plane

We want her to come visit us again for 2-3 months this time so she can enjoy herself and have fun & relax since she is going to finish college march 27th and we wanted her to come here since when she does get back she will have to start work and it will be very hard for her to come visit again because of that

She filled out the ds-160 form for a Tourist visa and is waiting for her interview April 19th

I have been checking the internet and everyone says it's extremely hard to get a Tourist visa for someone in the Philippines

So I wanted to ask you guys/girls maybe you can give me some insight on someway I can help her pass it

She owns her house & land in the Philippines she has titles for both the land and the house

She has 2 Bank accounts one of them is hers and one is a joint account with her mom which in all they both have 3500-4000 US

She has Light bills,Internet Bills, in her name

She has Passport with old j-1 visa paper still on it she went back online and did not overstay her visa

She has a letter from us with our driver license scanned on it and saying how we met her and why we want her to come visit us and we are disabled and are paying for her ticket and all expenses for her to come visit us and had it notarize

Pictures of us together when she was here with us

What are the chances of her passing the b-2

So she can come visit us I called and they told me "Ties" to the Philippines is what they look for but they did not get into detail with it

Does what she have already enough for her to pass ?

And how much does the fact that she went here on a j-1 visa and returned on time help her

Thanks

The house is great. Does she have a job waiting for her? If so, she should bring ties of that.

Is she married or has a child back home? That would help too.

She is not married and no kids

She does have a mother/father/friends there

She is about to finish college so she has not made her mind up yet where she wants to work

But her dads friend owns a pawnshop would it help if he made a letter or something and if so what kind of docs should she get him to give her

Besides that do you see any other reason she might fail

Thanks

So the house is really her parents? Or how did she manage to own a house?

Her chances aren't great, because she is a young single woman without ties. Still, she has been here before and gone back. Still if she can easily afford the application fee it is worth a try, a denial isn;t going to cause any issues later as long as she doesn't lie.

No the land and house is 100% her paid in full and only in her name ..

Her father cheated on her mother and they went there different ways and they both decided to give the house to her as a gift and now its just her and her mother in the house and she takes care of her mom

No the land and house is 100% hers paid in full and only in her name ..

All the bills are in her name only

What are strong ties then anyone can go get a job but owning a house is everyone's dream no matter what country you are in Old saying "Putting down roots" I don't see how anyone pass's if that over look that

And her mother is single and old so she needs her to take care of her even coming over here for 3 months shes already has a list of people she can call to help her mom till she can so she has to go back

and shes been here before and went back on time so she proved to them there she was a responsible person

Her father cheated on her mother and they went there different ways and they both decided to give the house to her as a gift and now its just her and her mother in the house and she takes care of her mom

And even if she only has 3500-4000 us money it's extremely hard to earn money over there I'm the one that paid the visa fees I'm the one paying the tickets and everything so she does not have to use her hard earned money

:( I really hope she pass's it i guess all we can do is cross our fingers and hope thanks for you're help penguin

Is this girl related to you?

My guess is that the CO would be wondering why someone would be willing to pay for a long holiday in the US.

Not everyone in the world is greedy but I see your point.

But shes just a very good friend we have known each other for 3-4 years and she helped me learn Tagalog and I helped her on her English and she came here to work for her OJT and spent 1 month with us and we really enjoyed spending time with her doing things since its just me and my husband we are 60 and 71 so it was very refreshing to have her here I want her to come visit me and my husband again before she starts college so the money does not matter do me its worth it to us

But thanks for everyone's help we will just have to wait and see how it goes and keep my fingers crossed

My guess is that they will think you are trying to bring in a carer.
