Hi everyone, we submitted my wife's DS261 on 2/25/13 (electronic version of Choice of Agent Form). I paid for the Affidavit of Support 2/28, showed as paid 3/6 and e-mailed the Affidavit of Support packet 3/4. Today I got a checklist from NVC requesting I send in the DS261. It reads:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The Embassy/Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic form DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) which can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html. This form tells the National Visa Center how to contact the principal applicant during the immigrant visa application process. A parent or guardian may submit the form if the principal applicant is under the age of sixteen.

You may act as your own agent, or you may register your petitioner, a family member or foriend, an attorney or other immigrant assistance professional, or anyone else you trust to represent you. The NVC strongly recommends that you register an agent with e-mail capability and a postal delivery address in the United States because postal service can be unreliable in some parts of the world.

The principal applicant must notify us of his/her choice before we can continue processing this case. [DSB 03/13/2013]

Now I know we filled it out because I called NVC last Friday and they told me they had it, just that they hadn't processed it and to give them X amount of days to look it over. Do I ignore the checklist and just wait til they get to the DS261 or what? Any help would be appreciated!

Ohh, that's a false checklist and is great news! They most likely reviewed (and accepted!!) your AOS package. Call NVC up pronto to confirm!!! kicking.gif
