Hi Guys

I applied for a E3 visa in Feb 2013. Initially they rejected the application as they thought I would not return. I asked for a reconsideration and the officer said OK and advised to let me know in a week's time of the outcome. It has now been 5 weeks and I have not heard back. The US consulate still has my passport.

Does anyone know if this is normal or have a clue for the processing times? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

T

If consulate still has your passport, sounds like your case is undergoing additional processing. It is outside of normal situation so it appears like your best bet is contact the consulate or call DOS (department of state) Visa specialist and ask for latest update.

You could also try checking for your status on

https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/

Most times, the latest info is not up there though.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!

Hi Guys

I finally got a result. My application was rejected. My passport was sent back to me in first week of March eventhough i asked to pick it up. It is now May and no one seems to know where my passport is. It was initially sent to my local post ofiice but I was not advised of this so the ppst office sent it back to the sender. I am not happy with this whole experience and wouldn't try it again.

email address: melbourneniv@state.gov is helpful if you want a status for your application or passport. Not gauranteed but give it a try.... NIV stands for Non Immigrant Visa... so no go for immigrant visa

Website: www.ceac.state.gov can give u an update for your application to some extent. You'll need your application number go to the site and it will tell you where to find it. If you cannot find it then call 1300 145 166 and give them ur passport number and they can give u your application number. This is for Melbourne / Australians only.

I hope this helps.

Thanks
