I'm seeing people talking about bringing hundreds of pictures with them to the interview for AOS. So here are my questions:

Is that really necessary? So far I've printed about 40 of me and my wife, spanning the years we've been together.

But since we are usually out doing stuff together, it's rare that we pull someone aside and say 'take our picture together'. So I have pictures of her with my family and friends, etc. Should I include some of those too, or do they only want to see pictures with the two of us together?

Just curious how much stuff they are going to ask to see.

Our interview is coming up soon, much sooner than we thought, so we are still in that early process of adding my wife to accounts, etc. We both thought we had a bit more time to get everything settled in, and I'm slightly worried I won't have enough stuff to show, although I think I will.

No need to bring a ton of photos. Some of your wedding and spanning your relationship, especially since she has been with you in the US should be good. I would go ahead and toss in a couple of her with your friends and family even if you are not in them.

The tend to understand that you are newlyweds and do not have a lot of evidence of co-mingling in your marriage yet. Just bring whatever evidence you do have.

Hah, ok good, thanks! I actually cobbled together another 70 this evening by going through the thousands of pictures we have taken, and also included some of her or me with friends and family, etc. So I'll have about 100, will just put them in a photo album and bring them along. I figure that will be more than enough!

I know we're going to be fine, nothing to hide, have had a condo together for a couple years in Philippines even before she got here, have a joint bank account there, but man, why does this thing seem so nerve-wracking? I mean, you have this notion, that if only the person on the other end is having a bad day, they can just say 'nope', stamp some paper and deport my wife!

I know that won't happen, but I'll sure be glad when this is over with! What a journey!

Then really can't wait for 2 and 3 years down the line to complete ROC and Naturalization, won't THAT be a relief to be done once and for ALL!

You should be okay. The IO we encountered at the Seattle USCIS office looked at our various visit photos, our family photos, etc.

We also brought every shred of paper that we had accumulated in regards to this immigration process. They can, and may, ask for anything.

Good luck.

I brought 134 pictures. lol, overkill most likely. She did look at all of them and asked to keep only 2. She even joked about how much weight I have lost. 100 pounds, I'm surprised she even believed it was me in the pics! lol

Its all depending on the IO and how their day as been. I simply had the mentality to be over prepared.

You should be fine. I just put about 35 pictures in a scrapbook from Michael's when we had our AOS interview three years ago. The scrapbook contained photos of our trips across the US and in the Philippines, camping, kayaking, family visits, dinner with friends, etc. The IO barely looked at them. He was a really great and cheerful guy and he kept humming a song during the interview.

Good luck to you and your wife on the interview.

This expresses exactly how I feel too. Any little miss hap on a piece of paper, one wrong word or anything just so minuscule could tear me apart from the one person I want to be with for forever. I just keep telling myself no matter what our love will get us through this. :) good luck on your journey.

We've printed ours in white paper and brought about 15 sheets (3-4 photos on each). Photos were when he arrived in LAX, our wedding and reception photos, trips together after marriage. The IO took them and put it on our file.

Good luck!
