What company in the world has a secretarial pool any more ? Do you work in a 1960's time capsule ?

Your right. We don't have a secretarial pool anymore. We call them administrative assistants, customer service reps, marketing associates etc etc.. The function is still the same. get coffee, make copies, run errands etc.

The problem with so many American chicks is they are not willing to accept Men and Women are different

oh! oh! My turn!! I can play this game.

The problem with so many American dudes is that they think driving a big truck and shooting a few deer every year is what makes them a man.

Ugh. Dockers would be performing public service by stopping production of those things.

Pleated khakis, Costa sunglasses and short-sleeved Ralph Lauren polo. Uniform of the desperate American man.

The problem with so many American chicks is they are not willing to accept Men and Women are different. I look at it the same way I do women in a male locker room. if they want to venture out of the secretarial pool don't be offended by world you may find

Sometimes I think the world is a progressive place and we are moving towards a more equal society...but then I open VJ and read your posts. Happy hour may numb my disappointment.

Ok all joking aside.. why are polo shirts and shades the sign of a desperate man. I thought it was more of a generational thing.. I have never liked pleated pants.

Ok I give up... I am joking. The whole thing is a meant to be a comic paradoy. Kind of like a Saturday night live skit.. Almost everyone else caught on and was having fun with it. If it makes you feel better my companies management is like an amazon assassin squad.

All female run. My Boss is a ball busting Female ( I call her she who walk behind the corn) . About the only man who is tolerated is the young hunk in the lab who is keeping the bun-son burner hot for 3rd in charge female upstairs.

we are like a bizarre parallel universe of dominant women and beat down men.

Just pour up a cocktail and enjoy ..

Do you wear khaki shorts and boat shoes along with the Costa sunglasses and polo?

All the frat boys where I am from wear this uniform. ALL of them. That's why I call them desperate. I'd say the same thing about sorority girls who all dress alike.

And the Costa Del Mar sunglasses? So far you are only 1/2 desperate. With the Costas you would be 3/4 desperate. BREAK OUT!!

I just voted "no" because the question is "Am I a Pig?" and I personally am (as far as I know) not a pig. The internal dialogue went something like this:

"Am I a pig, Maven?"

"No, Maven, you are not a pig."

Ergo I voted no.

You do realize that it's anathema for a VJ member to read carefully and interpret literally, huh man?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
