Hello,

I am sorry if I am starting an already existing topic, I am still searching for it. :)

I am a J2 holder and I am trying to fill out my tax refund online, using turbotax.

I am working on W2 form, and my employer has withheld Social security and Medical care taxes. When I asked can I return those back from them, the answer was negative.

My date of arrival is in August 2012, I am working with legal work permit for J2 holders since October 2012.

My question is can I return my SS and Medicare taxes? When I am trying to return my state tax, a certain amount is being withheld, is this correct?

Please help! :)
