Sigh, Is it supposed to take this long...

So, I'm more or less venting my frustration around how long it is taking for our AOS to move forward from Initial Process. We filled and was recieved beginning of Novemember, even in looking at the USCIS.gov website at their processing times (which hasn't been updated since Dec.) its showing that they're working on August's submissions.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and is this normal processing time?

Thank you for your reply. Yes we received our EAD, but we didn't submit the AP form seeing as we more than likely wouldn't be traveling until midsummer.

This is normal. Some even wait close to a year. You probably won't have an interview but you will wait a long time. But no need to be stressed or frustrated, the GC won't bring you much more than the EAD and AP already allow you to do.

Edit: Just noticed you didn't apply for AP. You can still do it for free if you want.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize or hadn't thought about applying for AP even now... I'll talk with my husband and see if that's something he'll be interested in going forward with. Traveling isn't a huge deal but should we choose to this summer, it would be nice to be able to.

I would think about applying for AP just in case. There could be a family emergency back home and the last thing you would need to worry about would be trying to get an InfoPass appointment for Emergency AP. Or even something good. A last minute quicky wedding invite or something that you want to go home for.

Yap, I'm a September filer from Kansas City and I'm just waiting. I heard Kansas City applications are taking 7-8 months. So, yours might come around May or June 2013.

No matter what, file for the AP! We weren't going to travel overseas until 11 months after we filed (July) and we haven't heard anything yet either. Biggest mistake I made was not to originally file an AP. We eventually filed on a month ago.

I agree with the others........ apply for your AP card. It's just good to have, especially if your wait is long for the GC.

Ive been waiting 8 months, 2 weeks and some days. I put a service request in 3 days ago to see whats taking so long. I doubt it will do any good.
