Facebook, of all places.. through mutual friends. Not looking for anything, just shared many common interests. We're basically nerds xD

The a year later we met in person... and it was love at first sight. Which I never believed in!

We had an amazing week together.. neither of us wanted me to leave.. 5 months later and we see each other again in 4 months.. and then the process begins where hopefully we can stay together :(

Stupid ocean... stupid distance.

I didnt meet my wife on internet, but on the side of a country road in Morocco. While driving home, I see a woman with her car broke down. She was traveling alone to see american friends in el jadida. Her rental car broke down. I stopped, asked if she was okay, she said oh my God someone who speaks good English. I dont write well, but I can speak very good.

She said all the sudden car started losing power and just quit. I did my best to start car but it never worked. I asked where she was going and she said el jadida and was upset as she didnt have phone, no way to meet them, no way to get help. I told her, I would not leave her without help. I let her call her friends with no,answer. I asked her to stay in her car while I went to get her car taken back to airport for new car. ,She reply, you not leaving me here in no,where land lol by myself. I be,honest, I never had any woman in my car, beside women of family. I wasnt for sure what to do with her. She asked please let me go with you to airport, so she did. One hour later, new car for her and she,was joyed with tears thanking me. She asked where I lived and on her way back from el jadida she asked if she could say, thanks,by buying me dinner. I told her, we dont buy dinners, but you are welcome to share dinner with my family.

I thought,I would never see or hear from her as she a beautiful professional american girl. Five days later, my phone rang, she said hello, remember me. I met her where her car stopped as she remembered the place. I brought her to my familys home where. she enjoyed tea and dinner.

Before she left, she said please keep in touch through internet if we can. So we did, 12 trips later, three years of moroccan family time, we are now married and im here,in the USA.

thank you,for letting me share our story.

Filed: Citizen (pnd) Country: Ireland
Timeline

Met The Hubs in a bar in London in September 2005. We'd run into some of his friends in a different location earlier in the night, so when they showed up at the next place (at which point he'd joined them), we met. Smooth talker that he is, his first actual statement to me was, "Is that your REAL voice? Huh". Charmer. Anywho, we talked almost every day for 4 months, I went back to London, we saw each other, I went home. Long distance became too hard.

3 years (almost) pass.

Early 2009, I get an email. We start talking again almost every day. Met up in October, decided to make a go of it. He came to the States in Feb. 2010 to meet my folks. I went to Ireland in July 2010 to meet his. On that trip, on a surprise trip to Rome, he proposed, which I was not expecting. December 2010, I'm back in Ireland for Christmas and we decide that we're getting married in March 2012, since I'd just been accepted to University College Dublin for their Master's in Library Sciences programme. May 2011, I'm over again for a visit, checking out the house we'd bought and starting to get things ready for school. June 2011, the stick turns blue. Whoops. So much for the difficulty conceiving which I've been told would be the case since I was 16. And the fact that it took 14 months to conceive a pregnancy that lasted 7 weeks with my first husband. July 2011, Hubs is back in SC for our elopement. I come back to Ireland with him August 1. January 2012, after a very high-risk and difficult pregnancy, Sophie Louise shows up early at 4lbs 9oz. Two infections, jaundice, and one surgery later, she comes home.

And from there, you can see where we are in the visa process.

We were playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He decided to add me to his friend's list because I was flamboyant and outgoing. LOL We started chatting, I facebook stalked him and found out we had the same birthday. He was my friend and helped me through a rough time, and I fell in love with who he is. I felt complete and so did he. Met in person and a month later he asked me to marry him. :) Rest is history.
