Hi,

I had my K visa interview at the Mumbai consulate on the 11th of January 2013. At the time I didn't have the right police clearance certificate so I was handed my passport and a white 221g letter asking me to submit the required paperwork. I was able to obtain the right PCC and resubmitted my passport and other documents to the consulate on the 15th of Jan. Since then my case has been under administrative processing.

On the 7th of March my case status on the CEAC website stated that my visa has been issued and printed. I went and collected my passport from the Hyderabad - India OFC collection facility today only to find a white 221g letter stating my case is still under administrative processing???? My passport is without a visa.

On the CEAC website the last update for my case is still 7th March and it still shows my visa has been issued. Anyone know what on earth is going on? Is it common for the CEAC website to display the wrong status or has someone at the local consulate messed up?

I have emailed the Mumbai US consulate and am awaiting a reply. Can anyone help?

Thanks a bunch.

So my case status on CEAC got updated again today (15th March) and it's still showing visa issued. When I spoke to the consulate on the 13th - they said wait for another update to happen on the case....and if it still shows visa issued then somethings wrong. The email I sent to the consulate on the 13th was replied to today and they say my case is under admin processing. Why then does the CEAC website show visa issued this past week? I find it hard to believe that the department of state website could be misleading!

Can anyone help me understand what do I next? I'm extremely worried and frustrated at the same time. What is going on? What can I do? My fiance in the US has tried calling the DHS office there but they have no clue either.

Just as a recap: On the 7th of March my case status changed from Admin processing to visa issued. I collected my passport on the 13th only to find a 221G letter and no visa in my passport. My case status on 15th March says visa issued. I don't know what to do next.

Anyone please.

Thanks.

Well.....its past 60 days now. What are the chances my passport was sent back incorrectly? Meaning it should have contained my visa stamped maybe?
