hello.

i'd like to ask what documents do we need to present to obtain the SS number? I assume that the card will be very delayed. My husband needs it for his taxes.

I already applied in the US Embassy in Manila. They said it is approved and card has been issued. But due to security and confidentiality, the only way i can obtain the number here in PI is for me to go to the embassy to obtain the number personally.

Is it possible that my husband can obtain the number if her presents our daughter's birth certificate and CRBA in his local SSA office?

thank you

No. Only the person whose SSN it is can get the information. For example, my Grandmother needed a new Medicare card. So I went in to ask if they would mail it to the address on record. No, she had to come in and make the request herself. So you will have to go to the Embassy and get the number yourself. You will have to make arrangements to go to the Embassy. They are very strict about this due to identy theft. They will not give the number out over the phone either--no matter how much personal information you give them.

Is it your or your husband's SSN? They will only give it to the person who applied.
