Can we process my k1 visa even if im not in my country of origin?

Hi, I need some advise.. currently I am working in Dubai and my country of origin is Philippines and im a Filipino and my fiance is living in USA, my question is can may US citizen fiance file k1 visa even im in Dubai?

Yes, he can file but you will have to return for the interview in your home country of Philippine after the petition has been approved or stay in Dubai to do the interview if you have your resident permit there. It will take months to get to the process, so it's left for you to decide.

Actually this is the situation I am in myself as long as you are living in Dubai legaly and plan to stay until your process is completed, I would say play for up to a year then yes this is what you should do. Just make sure you select the embassy in Abu dhabi.

Hi Kastrs, this coming april im going to dubai for work then i will wait for my residence permit once i got my permit then my US fiance will file application for k1 visa, thank you for your advise Kastrs, yes we will choose the embassy in abu dhabi, if there is something important that i need to know please remind me, thank you again,Good luck;)

I've been in Dubai last January as tourist then back home last week then on April i will be in Dubai again for work that's why i was so confuse if we can file the petition there...thanks so much.

dubai is a nice place. you can have your fiance visit you there <3 met my husband there.

btw, in dubai usually the job contract is 2 years, you might be paying big amounts if you will not finish your contract.

I have a similar question. My fiancé is from the Philippine but is working for Emirates in Dubai under contract. I would assume she has a work permit as well as resident permit since the company put her up to stay Ina resident building. When I apply for a k1 visa will she be able to do the interview in Dubai if I out their embassy or will she have to go all the way back to the Philippine just for an interview?
