David and I are gonna spend 1 week in Ireland in June. We're gonna go see Guns N' Roses there.... I can't wait to see my baby and hug him and kiss him!!!!!!!!! (L)

We know how much the concert and plane tickets are gonna be... but now we have to find a good but not expensive hotel to stay.

Any tips?? It'd be nice if someone from Ireland could post some hotel names here so I can check them out....... Or maybe a good website I can go to.

Thanks in advance people!!

Just wanted to add something....... wouldn'y it be cool if I had my k1 visa by then? That way we could fly to the US together from Ireland :) That'd be like a dream............ (L)

If it's bychance in Dublin, I have two names for hotels.

The first one is Fitzsimmons, right in Temple Bar. It's a hotel, but also a very popular bar. They are really nice people there. They had a house band which was really good...we bought a cd of theirs. Well, by the time we flew back to England, I had lost it. D calls the hotel up to ask if they take cc orders & would they ship a cd to us. The woman on the other end of the phone said 'well that's just not right, if you paid for one already, you shouldn't have to pay for another' He tried to insist to take his cc number even just for postage, but she wasn't having any of it.

Sure enough, in the mail came a new cd, an apology for it not getting there sooner, and a coupon for the next time we were there.

There's another place too...it's less expensive, but 'charming'...next to some nightclub within walking distance to Temple Bar. Can't remember the name, but I'll ask D for ya if you're staying in Dublin.

Belfast, I hooked us up with this Bed & Breakkie.....my friends are always staying at b&bs....didn't realize (dunno why) that that meant no private bathroom!

If you're going to Belfast, you MUST go to Ryan's wee bar and grille...awesome food, awesome ppl...

I agree with Lisa...Fitzsimmons is great!! and you are right there in the thick of things (if you like that kind of thing, if want something quieter I wouldn't advise you stay there) We went for st patricks day in '04 and couldn't get accomodation in the centre for love nor money so we stayed at B+B in Raheny and 'Darted' into the centre.

Have a great time....I am so jealous!!!!

P.S I always check out Tripadvisor.com for hotels and people's reviews....

Oh Wow that's great that you are going. I am flying into Dublin on the 22nd but we are driving to Belfast and staying. I did want to warn you. When you check for prices, I noticed most places charge per person so you might want to double check before you book. It seemed strange for me since most places here in the US charge per room.

Have a great time,

Baileyj

I stayed at a few good ones................The Parliament & The Paramount-they are in Temple Bar so you are right in the heart of the city. Check Orbitz for the best deals, or "google" cheap hotels in Dublin, you may find a few good websites!!!!!!

Have a great time-you are going to love it in Dublin

We stayed at a place called Clontarf Castle. It was one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Dublin being such a wonderful city and the people so friendly, made it so special for us. We thought we'd top it off and stay in a castle that had history dating back to the 1100's. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was too - about $50 per person per night in June. We went in January so it was cheaper still.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I'm not a big Guiness freak, but we did go there and the pint was awesome...tho I think it was the best at the sky bar at the Guiness factory.

You know, I gotta tell this story, it's so funny....

Me & Dave were at this bar in Dublin...it was absolutely mobbed...you couldn't even move! We're standing in front of this post that had a ledge for drinks. Anyways, some Irishman walks up to us & he's like 'excuse me, I'm looking for my friend...he's about yea big (holds his hands up about the size of a pint)...he's got white hair, and he's quite a dark chap.'

He sees this girl's pint of guiness on the ledge behind us, and he grabs it & says 'oh there you are old chap'

The girl turns around a few mins later & notices her pint's gone. The Irishman starts chatting her up & offers her a sip of *his* pint. She starts drinking his, he looks at us and says 'what can I say? I'm a c***' and he winks.

We stayed at ...Fitzsimmons before and really like it...

Other way there s B and B and it could be a little cheaper option...

Also Dublin can get a little pricy

Yes Dublin IS expensive..................a B&B is a good idea

One cheaper place is called the Harcourt Hotel-we stayed there a few times as well, it was about 70 euro a night.

We're gonna go see Guns N' Roses there....

I'd have a backup plan on the entertainment. Axl is notorious for freaking out and cancelling concerts, as you know.

I remember when Slash was asked about having Scott Weiland as Velvet Revolver's singer, and he said "Scott just has a drug problem. We can deal with that. With Axl we couldn't deal with his insanity."

Have a great trip nonetheless!
