we were approved today 3/12/2013!!!!

all they are telling us is that I was sent instructions

I know that all those blue dots are getting smaller and I am happy! We skipped over the Request for Evidence and Testing and Interview so what does that mean? We dont get interviewed?

What happens next? I never sent in a 1-129 form. I sent them the I-130 the g-325a for me and my wife and all the other important items such as certificates and proof pictures things like that.

Thanks in advance!!!!! its a good day!!!!! j

Yes, you sent it to the lockbox, but which service center did it get forwarded onto with your NOA1? Vermont or Cali? Very lucky!

Why do you say that you skipped past the interview? I am lost as to the reason for that. I would think if you filed an I-130 it would be forwarded to NVC and they would request the payment fees for AOS and IV fee and supporting documentation. And after that time you would be scheduled an interview. That is the normal process. So at this point I am assuming that only the petition has been approved at this time. Is this is what you are saying?

NOA1? not sure about any of that. I really have been confused about the service center because they show texas or vermont however I never really was informed of that. All I knew was it was sent to the Chicago lock box. lol! I am looking over what you sent and it seems once it is forwarded to the NVC, things get done in like a few months. I hope this quickness does not mean things will slow down. All I know is being married in December leaving my wife for the past two months have been really hard.

I hope your process goes well for you both!

The Notice of Action that they sent you in the postal mail is what we call the NOA1. On there it tells you which service center the petition went to. I am assuming it was sent to the National Benefits Center. Please update your profile and timeline to reflect that you only submitted the I-130. Also, the country on your timeline shows Armenia (which I believe is the default). You will want to go to the IR-1/CR-1 forums http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

As highyella72 said... just the petition portion was approved/qualified to proceed. The petition will be sent to the NVC, where you will submit the Affidavit of Support papers & fee ($88), and then the IV package and fee ($240). Then the file will be sent to the consulate in your wife's country and there she will be interviewed.

Good Luck

Not saying we skipped it as in we are not going to be interviewed just that the blue dots on USCIS website were skipped over to post decision activity. What you are saying helps me understand now that the NVC will let us know about the interview. I been wondering about that because I need to save money to fly over to Dominican Republic for that.

okay thanks I will update my profile. I received the I797C in January and yes I was filed at the National Benefits Center. Not sure how or why a center is chosen but that is where they sent mine after the Chicago lock box.

Yes, just sit back and relax. There are several more steps to go through before an interview is scheduled. You might want to start getting the required documents together for the AOS packet and the IV packet. Our petition was approved 1/9/13, took 2 weeks to arrive and be entered at NVC, then the AOS bill was generated and we paid, I submitted AOS documents. IV fee was invoiced after the Choice of Agent Form was accepted by NVC and we paid that fee and we submitted the IV documents from the beneficiary, which was signed for at NVC on Tuesday last week. They still haven't closed the case yet. Once they close the case, we will be put into a queue to await an interview. Depending on the country you wifes interview could be a month or more out from the completion of the case at the NVC level.

These instructions will not come to until you case is received and entered into the system at NVC. You will need to call NVC to see if they have issued a Case#, at which time you will give them your updated email address and your wifes email address. From what I have seen the communication with all this information has come by email. I have not received a hard copy of mail from them since the I-797 approval notice. They communicate via email from this point on from what I understand. I would wait 2 weeks or so from your approval notice then call NVC to get your case # and at that time they will update your email and your wifes email address for communication and further instruction.
