While waiting for our NOA2 to arrive. I dedided to take another trip to the Philippines to be with my fiancee for her summer brake from work. So my question is -- Does anyone have an idea when the timer starts from when you enter Philippines and go threw immigration and recieve your stamp ? Example I arrive on the 8th of April at 9:00 pm , and i will depart at 11:00 pm on April 29th , in which is a total of 21 days. Was just thinking if i would be needing to get the extention or do you think i would be under the 21 day rule ?

Thanks everyone for your help .

You should be fine. I don't think the times of your arrival and departure matter. It will be the dates that they will check into. Enjoy!

I arrived in the Philippines on August 16. The "arrival" date they stamped on my passport was August 16. The departure date they stamped under the "arrival" date was September 5. Those 21 days included the day I arrived and the day I needed to leave by.

If they do the same thing for you (include the days of April 8 and April 29), you're planned stay is 22 days.

I just looked at my passport for my last 2 years of trips to the phils. My arrival stamp has the date stamped for the day I arrived on. Then on that stamp it is written by hand what day I had until I had to leave. My newer stamps the date to leave is part of the stamp now so its not hand written. My last stamp which is good for one year because I went through with my wife, also does not include the day arrived as 1 of the days. They do not include the arrival day as one of the days within the 21 days. So you'te good as long as your plans don't change..

Also, after you clear immigration look at your stamp and make sure it is stamped for April 29th. That will be your absolute best indication that you're OK...

I wonder if the time of day has any bearing on whether the arrival day is counted or not?

All of my flights are on Delta which puts me in manila around 10-11pm at night so was thinking maybe that could be the case. But in August 2012 I went through HKG and arrived in the Phils in the morning and it was the same, so that negated that. The OP will know for sure after clearing immigration and the date to leave will be on his entry stamp. If it i a day short he can plead his case with immigration for the 1 day or get the extension right away.

But as we all know, things can change at any point in the PI. Depends on the individual your dealing with at that particular time.

Isn't that the truth. First time arriving in the Phils I did the extension at the airport, next time I didn't bother as we are in the metro Manila area so I did it one morning... errr afternoon, that wasn't the best idea.

Thanks everyone for your reply . :) . I will for sure be checking the stamp date that i recieve from immigration when i arrive . And also i will ask the immigration people while i am there and see if i am under the 21 day rule or will i have to get then extention. If in doubt , ask questions while i am there. Just in case. Never know what might happen when one arrive's in the Philippines. hehe
