Ripe fruit contains alcohol. If you are consuming ripe fruit, you are consuming alcohol.

Does God forbid fruit? No.

Obviously God does not consider the liquor we refer to as alcohol the same as the fermentation of fruit. If it were, he would have forbidden the fruit as well. But if I get buzzed of an apple I will come back and let you know.

Anyone getting a passing grade in high school chem class knows they're one and the same.

So krispy kreme donuts are getting people buzzed?

I'm going to assume you mean something different than those exact words since the fermentation of fruit is what gives us wines.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I think this would make a great animated short actually.

I have got to know what this means. I am totally picturing like a meat Oktoberfest that happens between shift changes at the plant where all the steaks and such are drinking beer in the packaging plant, then they settle down into their sleepy packages after a few minutes of debauchery and end up on the store shelf. This would then be discovered by a junior woodchuck reporter who would find lederhosen on some steak and a mini beer stein in with a pork chop, declaring "MYSTERY SOLVED!"

The alcohol and fermentation that has started in ripe fruit can be considered the beginning of wine, one ingredient - but it is not wine - it is not the same as the alcohol God forbids.

Making wine requires a process. This includes additives - one being yeast. After the processing is complete and the yeasts are done doing their thing, the juice from the fruit juice is considered wine. The sugar that was in the juice is no longer there — it is then the alcohol God forbids.

Sure, you may ask! And yes you are right, it would be the case at any place that is a non-halal restaurant.

We mainly eat at home because we both like to cook, we know things are fresh and what is going into our meals. Also it helps with the pocketbook! :)

But when we do go out we look for halal only restaurants. There are a handful here in our area. Fast food places like Subway, etc. are convenient for sure, but not really for us.

I think this will be what my husband and I will be doing...cooking a lot at home. He will be cooking and I'll be washing the dishes since he is the expert chef & I cannot cook for the life of me. But it's great to know Subway is a good alternative. I already told him about the french fries are all fried with (pork) LARD. He said he can make them himself!

After my marriage, for a gift lol my wife surprised me with a freezer the size i have never seen before in my country filled with lamb, cow, chicken. i guess its enough to feed 20 families in morocco. She ordered it from a halal market in houston somewhere. My wife travels alot as a flight nurse and is very tired when she come, home. I try to,stay busy at our, home. I Like the show HGTV on cable and decided to build her a fire place and sitting area outside so she can come home and relax and eat all that meat she got for me. I,hope she like, her new garden i made for her yesterday, took me nine hours,to dig a area for her to grow some vegetable.

I think I will need to do this too. LOL surprise him with a extra freezer and fill it with lamb (that is his favorite). I was amazed to see at his home in Morocco where they had TWO freezers full of frozen stuff and a refrigerator full of stuff!

I have been eating out for decades so it will be great to have my husband cook for us when he is here! :D

OMG & LOL..how did talking about buying HALAL MEAT turn into how to make alcohol? I don't even want to know. Too lazy to read all the postings. Anyways, I don't have to worry about this coz we both don't drink. Good luck and best wishes. It will be interesting when my hubby is here. I can't wait!

Your deficiencies in reading comprehension have hit a new low here, congrats.

People get sick from eating perfectly halal food all the time. It's not as though the pig prohibition and avoiding pork magically gives all people who avoid pork immunity from food borne illness.

Does "science and life" also prove to us that cats, that people keep as pets but cannot eat are also, filthy, dirty creatures and that must be why you can't eat them?

People just need to believe about all what the God said, to believe that God wants the good for his people even when we feel sick. To be sick from hallal food, this can happen only if the people don't follow what the God said, so the problem is in people not in God. God created everything for us and nothing for him, so it is much better to thank him then to doubt him.

Science did not tell Adam if the fruits of the forbidden tree were harmful or beneficial, ""but once Adam and his wife disobeyed God's command to not eat the fruit of that tree they were removed from paradise"". So we need to listen to the orders of God.

And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. God knows what you don't know.

Sourah anour(verse: 21): "O ye who believe, do not follow the footsteps of Satan and follows the steps of Satan, he orders to commit immoral actions."

No one likes the devil since birth, does science prove to you that the way of devil is bad?

You believe that a spirit is inhabiting your body and you know this well. Spirits still remain unseen as of today even with all the science and technology available. Is science proving the place and form of the spirit that is inside of you?

All believers believe in the Day of Resurrection, but dose science prove knowing when or even if it will happen? Although we are sure and believe in the Day of Judgment?

Everything God created that he deemed permissible is good for us and what is forbidden is harmful. God only wants to hear from his people "We hear and we obey".

God is the Creator of all things, and He controls everything.

Do you have proof that God has forbidden pork for no reason? Is there scientific evidence that the pig is not harmful to human?

The Koran forbids eating cats and dogs about 1500 years ago, in saying Forbidden to you is dead meat, blood and pork and meat killed without the name of God, strangled animals and deteriorating .. "and each carnivore with incisors".

The thing that I do not understand is why you agree to the prohibition of God for some meat with reason in the Koran, but the prohibition of pig seems to have no valid reason for you. You claim they are not bad for you, yet God said they are unclean therefore harmful.

As for my reading comprehension and lack of understanding, God made me how I am so if it is not up to your standards you need to take it up with him.

I thank God for the knowledge that he gave me even if it is not a lot. A little knowledge is much better than a lot of ignorance.

I'm thinking a long time. If the fruit starts to smell spoiled (that sour smell) then I'd say don't eat it. Not so much because it's fermenting but because it's rotting and probably won't taste very good or sit well in your stomach.

ETA - bananas will start to smell rotten after about two weeks of being ripe. I make banana bread out of overripe bananas (before they start smelling sour). I don't like eating overripe bananas but they do taste good in banana bread. :)

I have a question, how long can i keep oranges, bananas, before it turns into wine?

Banana bread I enjoy with butter. My wife, still insist I ruin it by putting it in toaster as we always heat bread before we eat. Cake wont work in toaster I find out hard way and wife had to buy new toaster. Since I been here break many, things in kitchen and that vac. to,do floors I broke it too. Microwave amazes me though, i like it. Wife said,im in dog, house????? if i break that. Dog house I said, never hear these words, she giggle and, said never mind.

LOL! Yes, banana bread doesn't belong in the toaster as it will most likely fall apart. Perhaps suggest getting a toaster oven so that you can put anything you desire in it without breaking it. :) My mom also enjoys butter on banana bread.
