if i have to list the ways then you prolly deserve to live wherever you are now. nothing against wherever you are now, but california it ain't. ;)

Daniel

:energetic:

I can list the ways this is far less bad than CA--whereas your "list" of why I would be "jealous" would be empty!

(I won't use the term "better"--that's reserved for TX, TN and GA).

that is a "loser" mentaility there fella. CA competes on a "is better" list.

try again.

Daniel

:energetic:

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh! TX is legitimately on a "is better" list (I can include GA and TN on such), where CA can only be on a "is worse" or "is WORST" (along with NY, NJ and CT) list. EOD, Danny!

I think it's funny that SAN FRANCISCO winds you people up so much -- the last time I was there I saw nothing but yuppies engaged in the naked pursuit of making money, nothing more American than that

There were a few homeless people and gays -- no different than any other major city.

Oh, its not SanFran that winds ME up, it's the whole state of Chop####sAmasse!

 extra use of chop...

like emeril's kicking it up a notch. BAM!

She wasn't necessarily directly responsible for it; the point is she shares the mindset that led to it, and that reflects on how she will vote in Congress. And, yes, Congress can override the president.

There's not enough of a majority to override a presidential veto

Anyways, the rest of the country loves California's contributions to the federal purse - California has been a donor state since 1986

I was speaking theoretically, I know there isn't a large enough majority for that currently.

Yes, the rest of the country loves California's $, but not necessarily SanFran's left-of-Saturn views.

I think I can add some clarity here.

Washington DC loves CA's US$, just like Ottawa likes C$ from ON (one worse thing though is that Ottawa is in ON, where DC is not in CA). Both ON and CA arrogantly (and quite often falsely) think that "what's good for us is excellent for the nation"--and both are known for robbing the rest of the nation other than taxwise.

It should also be pointed out that San Francisco is not representative of all of CA. SF is deeply blue, while other counties such as Orange County are quite red.

California is really fcking beautiful -- if you drive through the abundant farms of the Central Valley into the Sequoia forests of the Sierra Nevadas, you almost believe you are in God's Country, even if you are a homosexual secular progressive from heathen San Fran Sicko

thre is really no need to go into so many details. just check off these broad categories:

1) Weather

2) Financials

3) Opportunities

4) Diversity

5) Landscape

Sure you will find states that has a better x or y. But none will rank higerh as a whole.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I'm an Arizona native and before I moved to Cali in '96, I too had a lot of preconceived notions about California. I remember my family taking one of our yearly summer vacations to San Diego back in the 70's - some surfers driving beside our Chevy Suburban mooned us and told us to go back home. Zonies is what they called us.

Point is our perception of things is often skewed. :star:
