  1. 1. Does the New York Times think we're stupid?

    • Yes. Liberals are known for their arrogance.
    • No. The NYT thinks liberals are stupid for buying their rag.

The New York Times has an Editorial out on why Obama should say no to Keystone. I won't paste the whole thing here because the entire argument can be summed up in one sentence from the article: Given its carbon content, tar sands oil should be among the first fossil fuels we decide to leave alone.

So the question is this - does anyone really believe that if the United States does not permit the construction of the segment of pipeline in question, that the tar sands will be left alone, undeveloped?

Opposition to Keystone is pretty widespread across the liberal electorate. They seem to actually think saying no to this pipeline will mean the tar sands won't get developed. I can't decide if its naivete or arrogance that leads them to that incredible conclusion.

I wonder if all the Liberal Socialists that swarm to America here on Visa Journey should be considered political refugees. Canada seems to have no difficulty exploiting their own resources without any remorse.

If my LinkedIn feed is any indication, Toronto has a thriving IT sector right now. The quality of positions I see advertised rivals those from the NYC metro and Silicon Valley. Not the sysadmin menial ####### you see mostly in locales like Dallas and Columbus.

Canada seems to be doing very well under conservative leadership.
