hello everyone,

I am new here and I see so much help given by all.

I have filed in New Delhi (India) using I-130 form in Jan of 2006. We have returned the DS230 and statement form back to Mumbai consulate. Now are awaiting interview letter.

As my wife and I were preparing for interview and things to take with we came accross a question that someone told us about. Do I her husband need to send with her to the interview a Cover letter stating about us and our marriage, my stay in india for 2 months, and why I want to invite her here to the USA? Also if I do need to send her Cover Letter does it have to be sealed or something along that line that only the consulate opens? the person said that when she goes for interview you need to bring some sealed envelope that only the consulate opens? Anyone know what that means?

Here is my checklist please let me know if im missing anything

1. copy of my passport and her passport

2. marriage cert.

3. both of our birth certif.

4. her police report

5. my affidavit of support (I-184)

6. marriage photographs and some emails/chats of ours

7. ??Cover letter??

If im missing something just let me know Ill post the updated

Thank you all for your help

You filed via the DHS office in India....yes? Sorry just clarifying. If so you may be best served by posting in the DCF Forum

Out of curiousity.......what are the requirements for a USC in India in being able to file the I-130. On checking the website one can file through the DHS office at the US Embassy in New Delhi but it doesn't mention residency requirements.
