We filed september 13, 2012. So its been about 7 months now since we received the NOA1. Would be nice if they updated things more often on the website, as it would help a lot when having to plan a wedding. Its no good leaving it until 90 days before the wedding.. especially booking in the summertime, as everyone books around then and it will be hard to set a date in 90 days of arriving! Will be tough trying to find a wedding venue!Would have been nice if they gave 6 months instead of 3 months to get married. 3 months is cutting it a bit fine!!

If you include the validity period of the visa, which is typically 6 months, then you actually have about 8 months from getting the visa in your hand until you must marry. You can enter the US from the time you receive the visa until it expires and then once you enter the US you have 90 days to get married. The problem is that most people want to enter the US ASAP after the long wait for the visa, and who can blame them. My wife came 3 months after the K-1 visa was issued as she had things she wanted to get done before leaving.

 we're 6 months now and we did our first time service request but it says "Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time"

So,the normal parameters of processing would be 6mons. to a year?

We are about 7 months. I tried a service request by email yesterday and it tells me exactly the same. I am guessing maybe between 8-9 months to try the service request. (hopefully you will hear something before then though too! )

Did they say why 120 days? that seems like a long time to wait for a NOA2 if you have already been waiting almost 9 months.
