Questions when filling out I-130

Hi,

I'm new to this forum! I've been reading everything I can on the CR visa (including the guide and other forums) but still have a few questions.

I am the petitioner and am a student in the UK on a Tier 4 Visa, my husband and I have a joint lease in the UK while I am a student.

- I am planning on putting my UK address on the I-130, then putting my US address on where relative intends to live, then submitting a cover letter stating that I am here on a temporary basis while I finish my degree, but will be returning to the US after. Can anyone give me advice on whether this is the correct way to address my situation and fill out the form?

- In the guide's checklist it doesn't say anything about documents to establish or re-establish domicile. Do I include forms with the I-130 packet (such as looking for work in the US, photocopy of student visa showing temporary stay, letter from home in the US saying it is my intention to stay there, etc) or do I wait and submit these documents to the NVC at a later stage and not now?

- I also read that copies of documents are accepted (birth certificate, etc) - can I just photocopy and submit them or do I need them signed as photocopies?

- I have read some forums that have said some documentation does not get returned - can I submit copies of letters instead of the originals? (Quite enjoy re-reading our letters and want to hold on to them)

-Lastly, it is my understanding that I don't need to submit an Affidavit of Support until the NVC stage, is this correct?

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Hi,

Can anyone give me advice on whether this is the correct way to address my situation and fill out the form? This is the way I feel I SHOULD have submitted my paperwork. I agree that you are doing it in the ideal way

- In the guide's checklist it doesn't say anything about documents to establish or re-establish domicile. - I also read that copies of documents are accepted (birth certificate, etc) - can I just photocopy and submit them or do I need them signed as photocopies? standard copy machine copies for I-130

- I have read some forums that have said some documentation does not get returned - can I submit copies of letters instead of the originals? (Quite enjoy re-reading our letters and want to hold on to them) Best to submit copies of letters, yes, originals not needed. Bring originals to interview

-Lastly, it is my understanding that I don't need to submit an Affidavit of Support until the NVC stage, is this correct? correct

Thank you in advance for all your help!
