Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone in Australia has recently completed their medical before receiving their NOA2. My fiance and I are anxious to have everything ready to go for packet 3 as soon as it arrives. Thank y'all for all the help, this website is amazing!!!

but you have to make sure and remember the medical exam package validity just for six months.... good luck

I was really just wondering if it can be done and if so what the process is for scheduling an appointment without a case number.

I would suggest wait for the case number as it does not take a long time to get the appointment. I got mine done in Sydney and was able to get the appointment within a weeks time.

Once you have the case number simply call up the doctor and schedule an appointment, its pretty straightforward. They will inform you what to bring along etc.

However what you can do at present while waiting for the case number is to call up the doctor and ask which vaccinations are required and accordingly get them sorted if you don't already have them.

All the Best.

I booked my medical before I got NOA 2 and they were happy to do my medical without a case number. I however got my noa 2 a couple weeks before my medical so had a case number in the end. I had mine done in Melbourne. I would always call and ask though because some will do it and some won't.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

Hey There,

Where in Australia is your beneficiary? The reason I ask this is dependent on where they are located, some doctors allow for you to book without the case number. If not, the only way to really get in as quick as possible is to contact NVC a week after you receive your NOA2 so that you can request your case number (Should look something like SYDXXXXXXXX) With this number, you are able to call up and book your medical.

That being said, when I booked mine, they just asked whether I had received one, however, I didn't have to tell them what it was until the actual day of.

My suggestion to you is if you really want to get ahead of the game, get onto the police clearance as some people have waited up to 6 weeks for their copy.

Have the petitioner fill and send out an I-485 with supporting evidence - (They need an original signature).

Also start collecting more evidence to support your ongoing relationship to submit with your Packet 3.

As others have stated, depends on what state the Australian is in. Some states permit it before case number, others don't.

but you have to make sure and remember the medical exam package validity just for six months.... good luck

Actually it's 12 months, for Australia at least.
