I wish to visit my fiancee in the Philippines to be with her during the medical and interview process . I wish to stay past the 21 days and extend to as much as I need . A Non Immigrant Visa is what I need correct ? Is it better to use the 21 and then apply to extend or just apply for the 59 days first ? I already have the the site for the forms .

No visa needed..Before the 21days is over or on that day, just go to the Bureau of Immigration closer to you and have it extended and pay for the amount which i don't remember how much

You can also do Visa upon arrival. I did this in January because my return flight would have been on the 22nd day of my stay. Just tell the person at the immigration booth that you want to apply for it, and they will take you to the office at the other end of the terminal. Then you will have to go upstairs to the express lane to pay the stated fees, and back to the immigration booth to get your arrival stamp. At least this was my experience...

where are you from and where is your fiancee's place? it actually depends on the location if there is a bureau of immigration office that can extend your visa in your fiancee's area.

americans can stay 21 days without visa. however since you plan staying more than 21 days, i strongly suggest you go to the a Philippine Consulate/embassy and obtain a visa.. OR IF THERE IS A TRAVEL AGENCY NEAR YOU YOU CAN HAVE THEM ARRANGE YOUR VISA...

what happened to my husband was that he obtained a visa since i am staying here in mindanao.. not all bureau of immigration can extend your visa.. to save you the headache of extending your visa.. obtain a visa before going to PI.. atleast you will be worry free and just be in full attention to your fiancee :D:P

Hi...

or you can go in any asian country near the philippines, then back again... it will restart your 21 days stay without a visa. Enter and Exit for a day or less.

huh! Its a lot easier to get the extended visa at the airport when you arrive, the agent can do it right there. Or a cab ride later (if in the Manila area)

If you have at least 2 weeks before departure, it can be done here. Details in post #5 of this topic: Extend stay in PI

It saves waiting in line & is likely cheaper, as long as you have the requirements. I've done it twice & it's far less time & hassle than taking precious time away from your visit. Good luck!
