Make sure your connecting flights from NY to Cali are about two hours. It has taken several Nigerians few hours to get through immigration process. Taking under consideration that flights could leave or arrive later than scheduled. Is your Wife meeting you in NY? or are you to travel alone?

From one Californian to (soon) to be a Californian I say welcome!

be safe, plan a 4 hour connection. There are a few stories of POE interviews having to take several hours. Not that the actual interview takes that long, but sometimes they don't process you immediately.
