Hello.

When we filled in the i-130, we brought several documents as proof for our marriage and Kris's residency here. A lot of them were not accepted as not necessary. We were told that in about two weeks we would receive the answer to if our application was accepted and a little after that we would receive a package with documents from the U.S.

In the middle of February we received a G-56 (RFE?) asking us to bring the documents that they did not accept the first time, plus a weird demand to prove that Kris had returned from the U.S. in April 2011. Weird because Kris had never left Greece after she came here in Feb. 2011, and that was obvious from her passport copies that they were holding.

We were given the 7th of March 2013 as a date to bring in the additional evidence.

Once there, we were taken to another office in the Embassy and were told that we were going to be separately interviewed to prove the legitimacy of our marriage and sworn in. Our interviews lasted an hour each and in the end we were told that the USCIS are satisfied with the legitimacy of our marriage. It was interesting that they did not really care about the documents they had originally requested in the letter. They mentioned a mistake about the info they had that Kris had left Greece. They gave us a Notice of Approval of relative immigrant visa petition and told us to expect an email with directions and that we were not to deal with the USCIS again.

Since we don't see similar cases (or dont know where to look for them), what do you think happened to us?

Was the interview a normal thing? What we are wondering is where we really are in the process. Did we just pass the NOA2? Did this happen in our favor after all, regarding the timeline? Is the excerpt of our timeline below right in this case?

Thank you

Another question, that I wasnt sure if I should start a thread about.

Is there a detailed list of steps of the whole process somewhere in Visajourney?

For example, we found it hard to discover that NOA1 and 2 are notices of action, and not of approval.. Any detailed explanation about each process and about the acronyms, anywhere that we might have not found?
