I'm about to apply for a student visa, F-1 one, for one community college but unsure if I'll stick to that particular school. If I'm admitted to an other community college that I'd rather be at what are the possibilities to change my visa? Apply at the embassy once again or can I transfer once in the US? How is it looked upon to come to embassy again for new visa for a new school? Is it Anywhere near common? I don't really wanna wait to find out if I'm the the other school before I apply for a visa. Would appreciate all help!

Your F-1 will be issued based on the I20 of a particular school, if you wish to change schools, you'll need a new I20. You cannot attend school B with a student visa issued with an I20 from school A.

Transfering is common, but obviously that is done IN the US. otherwise it looks a little like fraud. If you want to attend school B, why not apply and get a visa for school B and forget school A all together?

Speak to the DSO at school B and see what the requirements are for transferring.

good luck

Thank you for your answer! Do you mean that I should wait and see if I get admitted to school B or apply for visa for school A and then re-apply if I get admitted to school B?

And is it okay to transfer within community colleges? Doesn't have to be universities or such?

I think you should apply for a student visa for the school you wish to go to. Why all this switching around?
