Question about paying new $165 immigrant fee

Are they supposed to send out instructions for paying this? My wife already got approved after her visa interview, now just waiting for it to arrive in the mail with her passport.

Questions:

1. What is her A Number? (Alien Registration Number) As far as I know, she doesn't have one, but it's a required field on the pay form.

2. Case ID: Is this her NVC or USCIS case number?

Hi,

Congrats on your recent approval!

The instructions on how to pay the fee will come with your packet from the embassy. It's really simple and takes 2 minutes.

The A number will be on the visa page in her passport and if I remember correctly the case ID is the USCIS number.

It's all really straightforward to pay and all the instructions are included.

Good luck to you both! :)

Her A-number will be on her Visa when she gets it.

The website says the Case Number of the application, so I read that as her USCIS #.

Gratz on the approval!

Ya I guess i'll just have to wait. I just called USCIS and they said the case ID number would be issued by NVC and it wasn't the USCIS case number.

I swear, the customer service reps at the USCIS hotline are braindead sometimes. They told me to call NVC about it.

I wonder what case number I will use since we DCF and our paperwork never went to the NVC. Would it be the MNL ten digit number? Thanks

That would be the equivalent of the NVC case#. We also skipped the NVC... so I guess we will have to see.
