Huh? NVC doesn't send you anything until you call them up and give them your email address. You have to make sure they've received the case (a lot of people who were processed at field offices are having trouble with that right now), make sure they've made case numbers for your case, and then you have to tell them your email address. Only then will you receive correspondance from NVC. If you've just been sitting around waiting, you're never going to hear anything!

I'd get to a phone and give them a call! Everything could be ready and waiting for you to make a move! good.gif

I just got off the phone with the NVC I had some other questions knowing they wouldn't have my case number yet. From what I read the beneficiary should get something in the mail once they have the case but could take weeks so it is suggested you start calling about 1-2weeks after it was sent. For example, my NOA2 came on Monday, I told him I was sure I didn't have a number yet but he checked and told me it arrived today and is in the mail room. So now I know they have it 4 days after my NOA2. I will start calling every day from next friday on. If you need the number it is 603-334-0700 be prepared to hold for a while!!!! But the guy I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. I would assume they have your case number reading and waiting for your call. They are open till 12am EST so give them a call.

I'd advise you to not believe half of what the operators tell you. They say you're supposed to receive something in the mail, but it's probably a very small percentage that actually does, because I've never heard of that before. And ask for waiting the amount of time they tell you - don't. Call everyday. They're required to tell you it can take 15 - 20 days for things to process, but it rarely does. The chances of you getting a case number on Monday are slim, but who knows? You might get lucky. It's happened before! good.gif

If you have any other questions about the NVC process, feel free to join everybody over at this month's NVC thread. Everybody else over there is going through the same things at the same time as you, so they act as moral support apart from helping with the actual process.

OK now I know NVC and USCIS operators don't have a clue of what's going on other than reading what you already know. So I received my physical NOA2 on Feb 14 but USCIS approved it on Feb 7th. Today I called NVC after reading these posts and the agent told me they had not received my case from USCIS to send an email to NVCresearch@state.gov. So out went the email but I pushed it a bit further and called USCIS and told them I had called NVC and they advised me to call USCIS so they can find out where my paperwork was at (Not try but wanted to dig for information). So she said the typical "It can take upto 90 days for NVC to receive your case." I didn't settle for that and asked to speak to Tier2. The agent said "They have the same information I'm giving you and the wait time is about 2hrs" I said "That's OK just transfer me and I will wait." About 20 min later got the Tier 2 guy. Explained to him my situation. He said "NVC should have already received your case. Put me on hold for about 10 min (I thought he wasn't comming back on the line). Boom he comes on the line and says "the case was transffered on March 2. I will submit a case so that they can track where you stuff is at. If by March 13th you don't get anything in the mail call us back. I thought that is weird NVC doesn't have my case but USCIS sent it out. So called NVC. Got an agent gave me the same info as the other NVC agent. I didn't settle asked for a supervisor. 25 min later supervisor on phone. Explained that USCIS had sent the case to them on March 2nd and that the previous agent said that case had not been received. I explained to him that it was unacceptable and that I was documenting everything I was being told and every agent name and number because I was ready to go to my legislator and notify him of what was going on. I also pointed out there were lots of Visa Journey members in the same situation as I was where the paperwork was getting misplaced. took to long, etc. He put me on hold. 6 min later viola. He found the paper work and he would personally get me an NVC number by Thursday because there is a 4 day process the paper work needs to go through when received at NVC. So who is the bull sh!tier.. I have no idea but I think it seems you need to be really pro active in this whole process and it just seems like they (USCIS and NVC) make you believe that they are on top of things and that you have to wait X amount of time before this and that and we believe in our system but now I know that is bull. So be proactive call follow up! Ask for tier 2 at USCIS let them know at the beginning that your jotting down there name (Interrupt them and said "Sorry didn't get your name and your agent number" and have them tell you it and then repeat it to them and say something like "OK I got it written down correct now" That way they know you are taking notes. Just something I found out today. Just so dissapointed on how this is all being handled for all of us. We are at there mercy and they seem to just not care while we impatiently wait for our spouses to be with us. Wouldn't that be considered a hardship to be away from a spouse because they seem to drag the entire process?? Be pro active.. Call Call and call. Ask for tier 2 and supervisors (Of course if you have been waiting ample time)

Good for you! I know, it's so obnoxious how transparent all their excuses are, especially when things like this happen. Most of the cases that are "missing" are probably just sitting in the mail room, waiting to be found, like yours was. Make sure you keep calling! Keep on their butts and get your case moving along. good.gif

I'm sure there are some people in the same situation who could really benefit from you sharing this over at the NVC thread!
