Lent- The 40 day diet

I decided to go with the 40 day diet as I gained weight since my wedding reception a few weeks ago. Lots of left over cake.

So yesterday I ate a Krispy Kreame Donut, Ice CReam, and lots of sugary snacks for Fat Tuesday!

I decided that I would try to eat better M-S, and then since Sunday doesn't count I can treat myself if I am good during the week...

Let's see what happens.

edited to say that I have also done some reading about LENT today... since reading about Pancake Tuesday... thought that I would give it a try... and enrich mysef...

I gave up Lent

I have committed to walking/jogging 5 miles every other day and on the off days doing something else to keep physically fit. I have gone off the deep end as far as self control and am working to get back in the zone. When I walk, I meditate and think and pray. It is really the best part of the day for me!

My husband gave up smoking so I am being his support system as well. It has been REALLY hard for him and he is only on day two. Poor thing. Guess he needs some more prayers, too

And then lastly, I want to be more concious of other people needs and daily do something for others.

My kids go to Catholic school, so they have to give up something. It is usually an hour of tv or candy.

I didn't give up anything this year at all. My Dad always puts us to shame. He always gives up something that he'll truly miss. He's given up the following for previous Lents: Tea, sugar, milk, butter, salt, meat, alcohol, potatoes, bread, cheese...He always gives up something very simple, but something that he'll really notice is gone. He's having an operation today to have a disc removed from his spine, and it should go smoothly for him, but the recovery will be tough. He's very active and I don't know how he is gonna be able to rest and not do stuff around the house and the garden. Mam will probably keep him sitting and make him rest!! Send any good thought if ye can

I gave up seafood and liver and all other kinds of stuff i don't like to eat. I also give up this damn cold I've had for two weeks.

saying a prayer for your dad now... and for your mom (for putting up with him... sounds like he might be a little grouchy if he can't be active)...!
