I know i did not include the letter of intent and an RFE is coming. My question is it early to make the letter now and wait for them to ask. How abt if it shows the letter is dated march and i don't get a request until april? please advise

Doesn't matter. If you had done it properly, the dates would be even older than they are now because you would have sent them with the petition. Use the VJ sample letter, change the names and dates, (one for each of you) print and sign.

They do not care WHEN you signed the letter that you intend to marry each other, only that you DO intend to marry each other. Most consulates (but not all) ask for updated letters of intent at the time of the interview. I suggest you prepare another one one just before the interview and if it is not needed, carry it back out with you.

They shouldn't match. I'd have new ones drafted and signed and ready....just in case. Resend both, it won't hurt.
