Hi all! First time poster here. I'm sure you get a lot of questions regarding POE's, and I searched but couldn't find anything related to what I am looking for.

I am just wondering what happens if someone is denied entry to the US if they are using the VWP. Are they banned from using it again or just told to try again later with the correct documents? I've heard different stories and just wanted some clarification. I am a USC by the way. I'm just asking because my girlfriend is worried about her upcoming visit here.

It depends on why she is denied entry. Usually after being denied entry, she'd need to apply for a tourist visa.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Also, maybe it would be good if your girlfriend had some binding ties from her home country with her, such as a letter from her employer/school, rental agreement, etc. I was never asked to show any of that at the POE, but just in case.
