Hello Everyone! I have been doing a lot of research to find at least a bit of assurance with my problem.

I came across this forum and hopefully someone can help me out!

Okay, So I am 21 years old. I am a born citizen. My mother is from Dominican Republic. She is currently

an alien immigrant. She has tried getting her Green Card w/ a Marriage in '97 and also with Employment.

Marriage didn't go through bc her husband at the time stopped the process and told the officer he is going to hold it off and "wait for a better future"

The employment didnt go through because the place where she was working at were missing taxes from 2006.

Good news is I turned 21 last may. We went to an attorney and filed i-130 and i-485 together in May 2012. We didnt get an interview

until February 2013. (2 weeks ago!) The interview was held at Federal Plaza, NYC.

Me and my mother had our attorney present during the interview. The officer asked my mother a lot of questions, However she didn't

ask me not one! Questions she asked my mother were basic such as when did she first enter the US, How did she enter, Has she ever

left etc. She was annoyed during the interview because my mother's file was not organized (which is not our fault!) She kept saying "God

who had this file before me. This is unbelievable, everything is all over the place." At the end she asked for my birth certificate (she already

had a copy she just wanted to see it.) Then she asked for my mother's birth certificate. My mother had an updated version of her birth certificate

which she had given the receptionist at the attorneys office. We saw the copy being made BUT the attorney did not have it in the file.

The officer gave time to our attorney so he can look well through the files and nothing was found. She then told the attorney Are you able to

bring me birth certificate translated today? The attorney told her absolutely by 1PM! The officer then gave the attorney until 2PM that day to bring in the

paper. While in conversation she said "I don't want to put this case aside, I just need that paper." She made me and my mother sign a paper that says

wait 60 days for review.

That same week I received a letter in the mail that says this about my I-130 :

On February 27, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we certified our approval of this case and sent it to the appropriate appellate body for review.

They will notify you directly when they make a final decision.

I still haven't heard anything back on my mother's i-485 and im really worried. If she was just missing that paper and didnt want to put the case

on hold wouldnt have we gotten a letter by now? Also why did my i-130 get approve first?

Im so sorry for this long post!!! Hope someone out there read it fully and has an answer for me!
