I am going to use Married name, since it's on the Marriage certificate. Maiden name is on her passport, but she has ID's with married name. As long as she has her marriage license with her passport it should be fine. I am going to change my wife's passport after she gets here.

The name on the passport must match the name on the ticket. Also, take a copy of your marriage certificate with you.

Contact your air carrier to verify.

Hi vj family.. I have a question, I needed to fly back to Philippines next month. I am curious to know what name to use to purchase ticket.. maiden name or married name?

Use the name in your passport. If you have not done so, try to file for a Report of Marriage at the nearest Philippine consulate or wait for the consulate outreach in your area. The schedule can be found in the website. You can renew your passport at the same time that way you can have your name changed in your passport. It may be too late to do it since your flight will be next month.

Thanks for reply guys.. now I am confused. Lol, Tahoma very well said. Thanks for that suggestion, will gonna try to call airlines.. carltrin thank you as well, actually I had a thought of that. But 1st we do not have Philippine embassy here in Colorado, we missed the outreach program which was held last year October. 2nd I my passport is just 1 year old..

Wrong!!!!!! We just went over for two weeks and used her married name for airline tickets... When i filled out the forms for PI immigration I put her passport name and tbey told us we were wrong, its her married name and they want to see the marriage certificate. And they looked at her Early work/AP card which is her married name..

How would they know she has a different married name unless you told them? I would think using name in passport would give you less hassles. Better yet keeping your maiden name would work the best.

They don't check green cards for flights. Maybe they look harder at foreigners stuff but the only person who asks to see my ticket is the people in security. Immigration and customs don't care about your plane tickets. I still think it doesn't matter for your ticket as long as you have an ID to match it. I'm sure you could get through both ways.
