Well, we add drugs like steroids into the equation, the unnatural effects of those things skew the equation and change arguments.

now you have gone off the reservation. So if not for anabolic steroids women could compete equally in football. That's just absurd.

Didn't I just write that I was waiting for a guy to point out the baby thing?

I have a question for you, then. If a man and a woman complete training and conditioning, are verifiably equal in their competencies and qualified for their duties, why should the woman not be allowed to serve?

Even if they could hack it, introducing 3 or 4 women into a pack of hard core infantrymen, that might live in the boonies together for extended periods is going to cause all kinds of problems. In some perfect world nobody is going to sleep with anybody, nobody is going to get jealous, etc etc. wrong it's going to happen and the unit cohesion is going to go to #######.

You telling me women in a Infantry squad would not reduce the comabt effectiveness for a host of different reasons, including sexism by the men, would be like me telling Tiger Woods how to play golf.

You are correct I have weighed in on several women's issues. I am pro abortion, Pro Birth Control, and detest affirmative action of any kind. I am all for a woman's control of her own Uterus. It's not place to tell her what to do with it,, or her place to ask me to fund her choices.

There is not even a correlation between those things.

By your logic, you weighing in at all on women right's is invalidated.

Women are allowed to serve, let's not forget that. Just not in the infantry. A woman may be able to pass a physical test, but no way would women survive and graduate SOI. But like a said before, a woman is not going to carry an 80 pound rucksack for 20 miles while also holding a m-16 and a 50cal barrel. Your desire for equality in the military is commendable but it is also futile. I served in the infantry. You didn't. I was there. You weren't. Women would genetically weaken the US infantry. Not the military. The infantry.

Your are dead on balls accurate. I remember at good ol Fort B, we got a shower after about 7 days in the field. A water truck rolled up and started spraying water. 40 naked men in a field showering. I know some liberal moron is going to come along and yap about nudity not being sensual and that would not cause problems etc. Maybe in Namby Pamby fairy world, but in the real world.... Some squad leader is going to hose private Regina and then do something stupid to piss off the rest of the sqaud.

As a Company Commander during DS1 I remember one day, I had been about 25 days without a shower. 2 of the females wanted to go back to the rear for the 3rd time that week to shower because they had their period.

Even if people do sleep with one another (which couldn't possible ever happen between men either - no, sir), the fact that everyone is supposed to be professional as it is a dangerous and tremendously important duty to serve the infantry, there shouldn't be a case of falling out because of a girl. That argument isn't going to convince me and, hopefully, not many others.

Your right. Surely if two guys like the same girl in a tight knit infantry squad it would never cause a problem

Not saying that it wouldn't cause a disagreement. Just saying that people in that kind of highly trained, respected and difficult position should be expected to be able to overcome their infatuation and be professional and mature. Sorry, I'm just not buying the "blame the woman for boys not being able to focus" argument.

You are a 22 year old girl with no military experience. You are barely new to this world let alone know how military men should act in a fighting hole with a woman. You have no clue how badly a womans presence in a place like that would effect men.

You are right. I am so new to this world that my thoughts and opinions have no value. I have no life experience that would grant me any credibility at all.

I have no right to say that woman should not be penalized for men not being able to focus past their hormones.

Thank you, Troll, for showing me the light and choosing to attack me personally rather than add to a healthy debate.

I think that men should be held accountable if/when they fight over the girl and the girl should not be punished and prohibited from an opportunity because we worry the poor boys can't handle themselves and deal with the consequences of acting out.
