Temporary Employment Authorization

My fiance (now husband) arrived on 9/18/06 from Turkey in JFK. We just discovered today that there is a small stamp on the back of his I-94 stating "employment authorization 12/19/06 (date)". Does this mean he was/is able to work? Does he just have to show this stamp and his passport to get a job? And what happens after 12/19/06, which would be his 90 days here? Thanks for your help.

Yes that stamp serves two purposes, it makes it easier to get SS number, and allows work for only the validity of the I-94, after that you need EAD, if you intend on working beyond the 90 days of the visa, you need to apply for EAD as soon as possible.

Doesn't make it any easier, since all a K-1 needs is the I-94 showing K-1 status to be assigned an SSN.
