Hello guys,

I am a green card holder and I will need to travel outside US for some days.

When returning to US my passport will expire in 1 month time.

Is there any problem to travel with a passport that will expire soon?

Have you guys ever had any issue like that?

Thanks

You will not have a problem reentering the US with a valid green card and a soon-to-expire passport. The non-US country that you're visiting may or may not require 6 months of validity remaining, depending on your nationality and which country it is.

All people die, and all passports expire. There's no need to put a bullet in your head to morrow because you will die some day, and there's no need to pee in your panties because your passport will expire in a month. Live in the now, and deal with death and expiring passports when the time comes to worry. In terms of your passport that's the day after it expires. If it expires while you are in the U.S., know that there's no law that requires a Green Card holder or US citizen to even have a passport.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.
