AP in Cairo - 2 months and still waiting

My fiance was put on AP after his interview in Cairo on January 10th. According to him, the interview went well and the CO did not ask to see any of his evidence or paperwork (barely asked any questions either). It has been two months now and there is no news. I tried calling the Department of State today and of course the representative couldn't tell me anything except that the administrative processing is still pending. Honestly, it has been harder waiting these two months then most of the rest of the process because how close we are to the finish line of this journey. Next week it will be exactly a year since our NOA1 date.

I have noticed on VJ that most people from Cairo that got AP and did not get their visa issued within the first two months of AP usually wait 6+ months for the visa. Is this true? Should I be preparing myself (mentally and emotionally) for another 6 months to a year of waiting?

I am really sad right now and I just wish there was something I could do or at least be told how long we will be stuck in AP.

I totally understand where you are coming from. My husband's apt. was December 20th and we are currently in AP. These 2 months have been the hardest for me too. We have been together a little over 2 years and you would think waiting these last few months would be a walk in the park, but unfortunately, It seems to be the HARDEST. I find myself crying myself to sleep at night because I miss him so much. I don't tell him that though, If i did it would break his heart. He always tries to find ways to make me laugh when I am sad, but It doesn't seem to work these days. I wish you well with you journey process and hopefully you will hear good news soon

Fiance visas are usually 3 months of AP if it is a name check. So hang in there another month. I hope it comes sooner-tomorrow would be awesome!!

am under AP for 3 months now,i had my interview december27TH 2012,and after the interview they kêpt all my documents and they kept my passport to,and said to wait them to call me.now am waiting and waiting......

My husband's interview went the exact same way and they told him AP should take only a few weeks. Now we have been in AP for 10 months. This is the hardest part of the process. I hope it ends for both of us soon.

did they ask him ti submit aditional documents? and did they kept his passport?

the problem is that they dont tell why they put pple under Administrative Processing.

MY FIANCE asked an imigration attorney in USA and he told him to wait and wait ,coz we can't do anything when we are under AP

No they did not keep his passports and he was not asked for any documents. The interview went very well and it was very short. They did not ask for any evidence of or relationship. We have no idea why we are in AP really. I have 2 congress men working on the case and they haven't received any answers.

SENATOR or congress man can't do nothing to help.even An immigration attorney.All of them tried hard to help us but nothing happen on our case.

All what we have to do is to pray hard and be patient and wait.Love will winn and this AP will finish one day

Thank you everyone for your responses. It makes it a little easier to know that I am not the only one in this situation and feeling this way. Hopefully we will all finish our AP soon and be with our loved ones!

I have decided to go visit my fiance in the beginning of April since I haven't seen him for over 9 months and I really miss him a lot. It gives us something to look forward to and hopefully it will make these months of AP easier.

We are hopeful and who knows, maybe he will get his visa when I am there and we can come back together!

I understand how you feel. When my husband was in AP it seemed like it took forever to finish, after 10 weeks his visa was issued. The not knowing, the uncertainty was horrible. The fact that there is no timeline and no one can tell you when it will end was gut wrenching. But just know from someone who went through it, when AP ends and the visa is issued and your fiance is with you here in the US, you will forget about the long wait almost immediately.
