working while waiting for a green card

I am an RN, and understand there is a temporary work visa classification called an H1C for Nurses, but all the USCIS sites say that it expired in 2009 (this is confusing because it is listed on all the current sites, so I am not sure if this category can still be used), but then there is also the TN visa... I am wondering if there is any way to get a temporary work visa in the US (I am looking at working for Nurse Travel agencies in the US) while I wait for my I-130 to be processed (through my American husband). I think I need to show I do not intend to stay in the US, and I am guessing my I-130 application would show that this may not be the case... so I guess I am wondering if I can have my cake and eat it too... any one know?

It is very confusing trying to figure out all the information.. I am also trying to figure out how to get a US registered nurse license without a SSN, since you can't get a job without license, and cannot get a SSN without a job (circles on circles).

First you would need an employer to sponsor you, I do not know if what you do is a TN profession, the other one would be a H1b.

To get a work visa, you have to have an employer apply on your behalf. The process then takes time. By the time you get the work visa, you would already be in the US based in the petitioned filed my your US citizen husband.

Nothing in the immigration process is quick.

So there is nothing you can do that would result in a quicker path to the US than through your US citizen husband.
