I was looking into that too, but unfortunately it seems like most of the postings of online positions are scams :-s

If it can be done online, it can be done by someone in a different country, with a lower standard of living, for much cheaper. So most are outright scams, or you compete directly with cheap labor.

Stay far away from MLMs too. Scenty, Mary Kay, Amway, etc. Anything that requires you to by your own product upfront...

Donno if they're in New York, But IRT & Teleperformance are two call centres that are hiring inbound customer service reps, technical support reps & Work from home reps for diff accounts( Sprint, AT&T , various medical contractors.. etc ) ..If not check around for call centre jobs , or customer service reps. Good way to put your feet in .. Good luck

This is so true when you compete your bidding at eLance.com, Freelancer.com or Guru.com.

do you speak native english? check out teaching english online. that's what i did while waiting for my husbands visa so i could come home, and is what i am doing now untill fall for a teaching job. check out craigslist or PM me if you are interested for my company....idk if I can publish the site here?
